Over 8 weeks, you’ll combine Barry’s strength and cardio programming with structured runs designed to build endurance, speed, and mental grit. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned runner, 789 is here to take you all the way to race day.

This plan is built to get you to the City2Surf start line feeling strong, fast, and ready.

Video Tips + Run Breakdowns
Get sent bite-sized videos from Connor with tips, explanations, and form cues to keep you progressing and confident each week.

Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday Run Club Specific Classes
Dedicated Run Club Barry’s sessions with Rory & Kate – programmed to complement your run schedule and boost performance.

Weekly Saturday Community Run
Every Saturday at 7:15am with Rory - progressive outdoor runs building distance week-by-week. Free and open to all, finishing at Single O for $10 coffee & croissant deals.

TUESDAYS

INTERVAL & HILLS FOCUS

 

6:00am – Surry Hills with Rory
5:30pm – Surry Hills with Kate
5:30pm – Kings Cross with Rory

 

Tuesdays bring the heat with speed intervals, hill sprints, and punchy efforts designed to build explosive power and top-end speed.

 

THURSDAYS

ENDURANCE FOCUS

 

5:45am – Kings Cross with Kate
5:30pm – Martin Place with Rory/Kate

 

 

Thursdays dial in tempo and endurance with progressive runs, fartleks, race pace blocks, and rolling hills.

 

SATURDAYS

 

6:00am - Barry’s Strength Session with Rory (optional)

7:15am - Community Outdoor Run

 

Starting Saturday 14 June, we’re hitting the streets every Saturday morning.

Led by Rory McCall, we'll build distance week by week with a clear goal: show up on August 10 feeling strong and ready.

The 16-Class Run Club Pack is $480 and includes:

Please note, the Run Club pack does not include a ticket to City2Surf. Clients will need to purchase these through the official City2Surf website.

No. Maybe you’re a day one runner, maybe you’ve been running for years. By combining running training with classic Barry’s workouts, we’ll get to the City2Surf finish line together - no matter your fitness level.

No, you can use any class pack for Run Club classes (you just might miss out on the exclusive merch)

Nope! Saturday Community Runs are free and open to all - everyone who runs with us will just need to register here.

Meet us at Barry’s Surry Hills and come ready to run. Meet at 7:05am for a 7:15am start!

They build each week, starting at 6km and increasing in distance to prepare you for City2Surf. The plan includes recovery weeks and tapering to get you ready race day.

All paces are welcome! Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just lacing up for the first time, you’ll be supported the whole way.

We recommend committing to the full 8 weeks for optimal results, as both the run and floor components are programmed to progress each week. That said, you’re welcome to book into any single Run Club class!
